A workspace for schools that run several programs

Attendance, lessons and the calendar, kept in one place.

Suffah is the daily record for Quran memorisation, part-time and weekend programs. Teachers take attendance and record lessons, administrators run the calendar and the people in it, and parents follow their own children.

What the workspace does

Every page follows the school's own calendar and the role of the person signed in.

  • Today

Each person starts on one page: today's sessions, attendance still to take, setup steps left to finish and anything that needs attention.

  • Attendance that follows the calendar

The register only opens on days a program actually meets. Closures, extra sessions and term dates decide what is due.

  • Progress records

Record each lesson against the student. Review a student's history and coverage, then edit, delete or undo a mistake.

  • Academic calendar

Terms, each program's weekly timetable, dated closures and events, in the school's own timezone. Subscribe from a calendar app.

  • People and invitations

Invite staff and parents by email or a link. Assign teachers to programs, link parents to their children, change roles, revoke access.

  • Family view

Parents see their own children only: attendance, lesson progress and the calendar, and can report an absence.

  • Inbox and announcements

Announcements and calendar changes reach every account. Read status is private; email delivery is optional.

  • Audit log and help centre

Owners and administrators read who changed what. A searchable help centre explains every page for every role.

Four roles, one fixed set of permissions each

A membership has one role. Family links add a parent's view of specific children on top of any role.

  • Owner

Runs the organization: transfers ownership, manages administrators and institution settings, reads the full audit log.

  • Administrator

Manages programs, terms, timetables, students, invitations and access for their institution.

  • Teacher

Sees assigned programs and students, takes attendance and records lessons.

  • Parent

Follows their linked children in the Family view and reports absences.

One sign-in account can belong to more than one organization. Each membership carries its own school access, and records never cross between organizations.

How a school gets started

  1. An organization is set up for the school

One organization owns one or more institutions, each with its own programs, staff, timezone and settings.

  2. The owner adds programs, terms and timetables

Today lists what is left to set up until the calendar, teachers, students and guardian links are complete.

  3. People are invited

Administrators invite teachers and parents. Everyone signs in with a code sent to their email. There are no passwords.
